About New Balance

New Balance is the only athletic shoe manufacturer that offers a majority of shoe models in multiple widths, from narrow (2A) to extra extra wide (6E). Founded in Boston in 1906 by William J. Riley, New Balance lives by the philosophy that just like people, feet come in all shapes.

New Balance shoes feature Abzorb cushioning its proprietary basic cushioning compound.  The foam-based polymer works by dispersing the forces out from the point of impact and reducing the shock that is transferred through the shoe and up into the leg and body (this type of shock is sometimes responsible for heel, ankle, and even back pain).  Most New Balance shoes incorporate some form of this highly effective material.

The shoes also feature NDurance, a rubber compound that is use to provide maximum outsole durability, specifically on our tennis/court models, which start with the following prefixes: WC/MC or CT/WCT.

New Balance has also integrated Rollbar technology into the rear of the midsole to maximize rearfoot stability for wearers suffering from moderate to severe overpronators.

New Balance has been the preferred shoe of elite athletes like Canadian Milos Raonic, Heather Watson of the United Kingdom and Nicole Gibbs of the United States as well Matt Bonner and James Worthy of the NBA.
